Our first blog post!

June 11, 2020

Welcome to Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia’s first blog entry! Yeah, we’re a little late to the blogging game - we’ve been so busy working on our programs and raising funds to make those programs possible.  Our top priority has always been our mission: “To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens." Good community outreach and relations support that mission. We couldn’t do it without our supporters!  While we have always strived to keep communication flowing, the COVID19 pandemic has made us, and everyone, re-examine how we do things. Right now, we can’t go out into the community and see our supporters face-to-face, so we have to pivot and readjust to maintain our high standards of communication and transparency. That’s where this blog comes in.

While our Clubs have been closed (except for our Rosemont Club, which is currently offering limited childcare services for essential workers), our supporters have lots of questions and want to know what services are being offered, what they are supporting, where the greatest needs lie, and just know what and how we’re doing. We’re still fine tuning how want to organize this blog, but the idea is to get information out, answer your questions, let you know what we’re doing, and show you lots of pictures!  It’s easy to talk, but pictures speak louder than words.

Speaking of pictures, enjoy these pictures of what our Rosemont Club members are doing right now!
