2021 Suffolk BBQ & Oyster Roast Cancelled – Campaign for Suffolk to Provide Critical Funding
SUFFOLK, VA. – Due to concerns for our community's safety, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia’s Suffolk BBQ & Oyster Roast has been cancelled for 2021. The BBQ & Oyster Roast is the Suffolk Boys & Girls Club’s yearly fundraiser. Currently, the Club is running and serving Suffolk’s youth, so funding and community support are still needed. In lieu of the BBQ & Oyster Roast, our “Campaign for Suffolk” has opportunities to sponsor Suffolk Club programs directly and provide critical funding to our Suffolk children and teens.
Boys & Girls Clubs provides a safe place, caring adult mentors, fun and friendship, and high-impact youth development programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours. All of our Club members receive programming from our national curriculum, and you can sponsor programs in these key areas: Education, Character & Leadership, Workforce Readiness, The Arts, Health and Wellness, and Sports & Recreation. Anyone interested in sponsoring or supporting one of these programs can visit our website for more detailed information. https://www.bgcseva.org/suffolk-campaign. You can also contact Rebecca Myers, Resource Development Coordinator, at rmyers@bgcseva.org with questions.
